Take Your Child to Work Day

Take your child to work day started on April 22nd, 1993. This day was created by the Ms. Foundation. More than 37 million Americans at over 3.5 million workplaces participate in take your child to work day, this day is designated for children 8-18 years old. The idea is to expose children to different jobs and careers at an early age, with the hope that this could help them in the future find a career they are passionate about.

Taking your child to work with you can be a rewarding experience for both you and your child. If your child is the appropriate age, taking them to work can be fun for them and it lets them see you in a different light. If you have a job where it is not possible to bring children to work, see if there is a co-worker in a different department they can follow or if they can go with another family member or friend. Another idea would be to follow someone different every year and expand their knowledge base of different careers.
