World Chocolate Day

World Chocolate Day

World Chocolate Day falls on July 7th of every year. No know really knows when chocolate was invented, but some people estimate it has been around since 1480 B.C.E. The word “chocolate” comes from an Aztec word “xocoatl”. The Aztec’s used cacao beans to brew a bitter drink.

It wasn’t until 1828 that a Dutch Chemist figured out how to make powdered chocolate by removing the butterfat. Over time resulting in the solid chocolate that we eat today.
